Facebook Messenger
Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular communication channels for chatbots worldwide. There are more than 1 billion active users on it each month, and your business cannot ignore it!
Another insight is that on average, people exchange over 1 billion messages monthly with businesses on Facebook, and the share of Facebook Messenger chatbots in this traffic is growing continuously.
Businesses are represented on Facebook as Pages, so the conversation that your chatbot will do will be performed from your Page’s name. Actually, your chatbot will act as the voice of your business Page on Facebook!
To make your chatbot available on Facebook Messenger, please follow these simple steps:
Create a new Facebook page (or use your existing one). Usually, it’s advised to start and test your chatbot on a temporary test page and switch it to your main Facebook page once you’re satisfied with the conversation.
Create a new chatbot in Activechat using one of our templates or build it from scratch.
Connect your chatbot to your Facebook page. Later you will be able to change the page that the bot is connected to. Please note that each bot can be connected to a single page only.
There is a number of specific limitations for bots on Facebook Messenger, which we are going to discover in the following sections.
