The “/start” skill will be triggered when the user interacts with your chatbot or virtual assistant for the very first time. It happens when the user clicks the “Get started” button on Facebook Messenger or the “Start” button on Telegram. If you have our website chat widget installed, this event will be triggered each time a new visitor opens up one of your website pages (but only once per visitor!)
This skill is usually used to greet the user and tell him or her what this specific chatbot can do – the so-called “welcome message”. When you create a new bot from scratch in Activechat, the welcome message is set to display “Hi! Welcome to your new AI agent!”
You can customize it by editing the “start” skill in the Visual Builder.
You can also quickly customize your bot's welcome message by choosing the "Simple response" option instead of a "Run skill" in the Welcome message intent.
